Our church was established in 1967

as an independent, fundamental, Baptist church that believes, preaches, and practices the Bible.

Brother Fenton Malcolm was the founding pastor & Brother Terry Anderson pastored from 1972-1983.

Pastor Larry J. Witte
Pastor Larry J. Witte has been the pastor of Community Baptist Church for 38 years.
He's been in ministry for 48 years.

In 1973, Pastor Witte was called to preach after an all-night prayer meeting.
He left the field of Civil/Consulting Engineering and never turned back.

Pastor has a burden for Christian Education. He has a history serving as: 
Principal/Teacher at Heritage Christian Academy in Champaign, Illinois
High School Teacher at Copper Country Christian School in Chassell, Michigan
Principal/Teacher at Community Baptist Academy in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan (25 years)
Principal of Community Baptist Academy Homeschool Division (11 years)

For over 30 years, Pastor has been the Quiz Master for Bible Quizzing in the Superior Christian School Conference.

A love for people, for the Word of God, and for missions have characterized his life. He always strives to fulfill the Scriptures, "...by love serve one another" and "...be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." We often hear him say, "A little kindness never hurt anybody."

Pastor's Family

Pastor and Susan have been married 47 years.
They have 7 sons and twenty-eight grandchildren.
Two of their sons are in the pastorate.
